WeekWise ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") is developed and maintained by Tuan Nguyen. This Privacy Policy describes what data WeekWise collects, how it is used, where it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.
By downloading or using WeekWise, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Overview
WeekWise is a personal academic calendar app for students. It is designed with privacy in mind:
- No account or login required to use the App.
- No third-party advertising SDKs are included.
- No cross-app or cross-website tracking occurs.
- All core data stays on your device unless you opt into iCloud sync.
2. Data We Collect and Why
WeekWise collects only the data necessary to deliver its features. All data is provided directly by you or generated by your use of the App.
2.1 Data You Provide

- Device identifiers used for advertising (IDFA)
- Any data from children under 13
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to operate WeekWise features:
- Display and manage your academic calendar within the App and its widgets.
- Sync your data across your Apple devices via Apple CloudKit, if you have iCloud enabled for WeekWise.
- Schedule local notifications for reminders you choose to enable. Notifications are processed entirely on-device and are not sent to our servers.
- Validate in-app purchases and subscriptions through Apple's StoreKit. We receive only an entitlement status (active/inactive) — we do not receive your payment details.
We do not:
- Sell your data to third parties.
- Use your data for advertising or marketing profiling.
- Share your data with analytics companies.
- Process your data for any purpose other than operating the App.
4. Data Storage
4.1 On-Device Storage
All app data is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard platform storage (UserDefaults, Core Data, or equivalent). No data is transmitted to WeekWise-operated servers.
4.2 iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you have iCloud enabled for WeekWise in your iOS Settings, your academic calendar data and preferences may sync across your Apple devices via Apple CloudKit. This sync is governed by your personal Apple ID and Apple's iCloud Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You can disable iCloud sync for WeekWise at any time in:
Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → WeekWise → toggle off
4.3 Widget Data
WeekWise widgets access relevant app data through Apple App Groups shared storage — a secure, sandboxed container that allows the main app and its widgets to share data on the same device. This data does not leave your device.
5. Third-Party Services
WeekWise uses only Apple-provided platform services. No third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks are integrated.

6. Tracking and Advertising
WeekWise does not track you.
Specifically:
- We do not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
- We do not link your data to your identity for advertising purposes.
- We do not share data with data brokers or advertising networks.
- We do not engage in cross-app or cross-website tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.
Because WeekWise does not track users, you will not be shown an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt when using the App.
7. Apple's App Privacy Nutrition Label
In accordance with Apple App Store requirements, the following summarises WeekWise's data practices as disclosed in the App Store listing:
- Data linked to you: None
- Data used to track you: None
- Data not linked to you: App functionality data (calendar entries, preferences) stored only on your device or your personal iCloud account
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained only for as long as the App is installed or iCloud sync remains enabled.
To delete your data:
- Delete app content within the App — where the App provides in-app options to clear calendar entries or reset settings.
- Delete the App from your device — this removes all locally stored data from your device.
- Disable iCloud for WeekWise — this stops future iCloud sync. To remove existing iCloud data, go to iCloud.com and manage your CloudKit data there, or contact us.

9. Children's Privacy
WeekWise is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction, e.g., 16 in some EU countries under GDPR).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the App, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete that information.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data handled by the App. These include:
- Relying on Apple's platform security features (device encryption, Keychain, App Sandbox).
- Not transmitting your data to external servers operated by us.
- Limiting data collection to only what is necessary for app functionality.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Users
WeekWise is available globally. If you use iCloud, your data may be processed by Apple's infrastructure in data centres located in various countries. Apple's handling of this data is subject to Apple's own Privacy Policy and applicable data transfer mechanisms.
We do not operate our own servers and do not independently transfer your data internationally.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, or Switzerland: The legal basis for processing any personal data is your consent (by using the App and enabling optional features like iCloud sync) and the performance of the App's features you request.
12. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:
- The right to access data we hold about you.
- The right to correct inaccurate data.
- The right to delete your data (see Section 8).
- The right to withdraw consent at any time (e.g., by disabling iCloud sync or deleting the App).

13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable law. When we make changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- Post the updated policy at the same URL or within the App.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
